Thad Benton

CrossFit Level 1
AZPOST Physical Fitness Instructor
USAW Level 1

I learned about CrossFit from my Physical Therapist in 2005 who was rehabbing my shoulder after a dislocation. At that time, crossfit.com was basically just an HTML style website, so learning to do the WODS was an adventure..you kids don’t know how good you have it.

I’ve been CrossFitting since 2005…I started after I could dead hang from a pull-up bar after PT and never looked back!

I have an Army military background, 20 years total combined Active and Reserve time. Combat 2x in Iraq 2008-2010, 1x in AFG 2013…third strike and I am out!

Throughout high school I played competitive sports year-round, after graduating I wanted to find a way to keep competing. A friend introduced me to CrossFit in 2012 during my freshman year of college. I joined my university’s CrossFit Club team and worked my way up to the President position. I’ve been doing CrossFit for 4 years, competing in local competitions as well as the CrossFit Open every year.

The Secret to Life Coaching
CrossFit Level 1

After graduating from Central Michigan University with honors, Rebecca moved to Arizona to train, coach, and soak up some sun. She grew up dancing, teaching dance and gymnastics, playing soccer, and running track. After going to a CrossFit competition to watch her sister compete, she was hooked. Rebecca dove head first into everything CrossFit beginning December of 2014. Her goals are to be an elite competitor and help inspire others to work hard and enjoy the journey along the way!

Kelsey DeDea

BS in Nursing
Minor in Nutrition
CrossFit Level 1

Kelsey began her active lifestyle at 3 years old when she first learned to figure skate. It became more natural than walking and she had her first competition at 4 years old. She stayed competitive for 13 years before fully committing to volleyball. She played 8 years of club and school volleyball where she found she enjoyed the community of a team sport. She was also introduced to functional fitness, powerlifting, and Olympic lifting in high school through volleyball conditioning. She enjoyed learning the lifts but was completely unaware that it was a sport or that CrossFit existed. Kelsey found CrossFit in 2014 after finding a Groupon for a local box and wanting to “look fit”. Instead, she fell in love with becoming strong, being apart of an amazing community, and pushing herself to new limits…. and was always looking forward to setting a new PR. She received her CF- Level 1 in 2015 and graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelors of science in nursing and a minor in nutrition in 2016. Kelsey hopes to pursue CF-L2 and USAW certifications in the future.

Majera Majidi, DC

Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
Rocktape FMT 1
Certified Doctor of Chiropractic

I am a Chiropractic Physician with 14 years of experience and got involved in fitness at the same time by becoming a certified strength & conditioning specialist. I was a strength & conditioning coach for high school and collegiate level sports for a number of years, then got involved with racquet sports \’off-court\’ conditioning as this was my background as a sport. I was already cross-training to improve in racquet sports. One of the guys I train with saw me and said, “you know there are places that do all this stuff you do, but in a group for time and reps.” Once I heard that, I started looking for a box. I have been involved with CrossFit since 2009. Consistently and competitively for 2 years now. I have been on the CF Games medic team, and have hundreds of CF athletes as patients in my physical medicine practice.

I have been practicing sports medicine and chiropractic for 14 years, but the best part of my career is coaching individuals in fitness from beginner level to elite athletes, seeing their progress, applying what I know in sports science to make them better athletes. I also have a transformation program for individuals with chronic problems that I can guide to a new lifestyle. One of my most successful clients is an individual male who used to be 560 lbs. and in less than 2 years under my program has lost 220 lbs., embraced the crossfit lifestyle, learned what to eat and avoid, and has never turned back. True transformation that continues to progress. Individuals succeed no matter what their goals are when they are one of my clients. Your goals are my priority.
